All fires are treated as an emergency, due to their potential to spread quickly, putting both lives and property at risk.

Calling your local bushfire brigade directly to report the fire only delays and complicates getting the correct message across to emergency services. The 000 Communications Centre will alert the relevant local fire brigades and emergency services.

So remember to always call 000 to report all signs of smoke and fire.
