Transport & Licensing

The following licensing services can be processed at the Shire of Gingin Administration Centre, Monday to Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm. 

Vehicle Registration Renewals and New Registrations

Includes transfers and conditional registrations. For inspected vehicles, please be sure to bring your Driver's Licence and proof of ownership of the vehicle.

Registration Number Plates

Custom, special series and local authority licence number plates are available for order. You have a choice of style, wording and numbering for your registration number plates.

Driver Licence Renewals and New Applications

Includes photo renewals and additional class applications. New applications for Driver or Vehicle licences must be received at the counter prior to 2.30pm as complex transactions can take a long period of time to process.

Please ensure to provide all Proof of Identity documents to avoid delays in processing. 

Driver's Licence Testing

The following types of Motor Driver's Licence (MDL) testing is available. Please note bookings are essential.

  • Hazard Perception Tests (HPT)
  • Computerised Theory Testing (CTT) (before 2.30pm) 
  • Practical Driving Assessment (PDA)
