Local Government Elections - Candidate Information Session

Ordinary local government elections are held every two years, on the third Saturday in October. The timetable for the 2023 local government election process is available here. Election Day is Saturday, 21 October 2023.The 2023 elections for the Shire of Gingin will be conducted as postal elections by the WA Electoral Commission.
Six vacancies will be contested at this election. For more details see here.
In order to stand for election as a Council member, you must:
- be 18 years of age or older;
- be an elector of the Shire of Gingin;
- not be nominating as a candidate in another election; and
- have completed the mandatory online induction course.
Candidate Information Session
The Shire of Gingin is hosting an information session for anyone interested in becoming a Councillor, details as follows:

Venue: Guilderton Hall, Wedge Street Guilderton (next to Guilderton Country Club)
