The Shire of Gingin is pleased to extend an invitation to interested community members who would like to meet the new sitting Council over a free cup of coffee from 10.00am – 10.45am on Tuesday 5 December at CU@Park Restaurant, Gingin.
Councillors will be available to meet community members and answer any questions in a sociable and informal face-to-face forum.
“As a Council and leadership team we understand the community’s need and wish for more direct contact with their elected members, and this is one way we hope to become more personally available to our constituents,” said Shire President Wayne Fewster.
“We are keen to meet with a wide cross-section of the community to hear your views and answer any questions you may have. We are also committed to building relationships with our communities – we understand from feedback that Council needs to be more accessible, and we hope that more regular face-to-face opportunities will be welcomed and mutually beneficial.
“The community coffee invitation in Gingin will be the first of a number we plan to hold across the Shire in the coming months and we’ll provide details for when we plan to visit to our communities along the coast in due course.
“In the meantime, we would welcome anyone to come on down, meet your new Council, and enjoy a coffee on us.”
RSVPs are not required to attend, however we ask that attendee interactions with elected members and Shire representatives on the day are constructive and respectful.
