The Shire of Gingin is intending to make application to the Governor of Western Australia under the Cemeteries Act 1986 to have Lots 346 Cairn Crescent and 361 Brockman Street, Gingin proclaimed as a cemetery so that they can be used for cemetery purposes in the future.
Lot 346 is a Crown Reserve vested in the Shire of Gingin for the purpose of “Cemetery”, and Lot 361 was purchased by the Shire in 2018 specifically for the purpose of expanding the existing cemetery. Both lots adjoin the existing Gingin Cemetery.
A plan showing the location of both lots in relation to the existing Cemetery is available via the link below. Alternatively, a hard copy plan can be viewed during office hours at the Shire’s Gingin Administration Centre located at 7 Brockman Street, Gingin or its Lancelin Office located at 255 Vins Way, Lancelin.
Public submissions in relation to the proposed proclamation of Lots 346 and 361 will be accepted up until the close of business on Friday, 22 December 2023. Submissions must be in writing and directed to the CEO either by post to the Shire of Gingin, PO Box 510, Gingin WA 6503 or by email to mail@gingin.wa.gov.au.
