The Shire of Gingin and local volunteer bush fire brigades will be conducting a prescribed fuel reduction burn on Wednesday 5 June from 9:30am to 6:00pm along the K.W Rd and Sappers Rd intersection in Nilgen.
There are two parcels of land that the Shire plans to burn. The priority is the parcel marked “ALPHA” on the attached map. Depending on time and weather conditions, the crews will attempt to burn the second parcel marked “BRAVO”, however this may be pushed back if the conditions are not suitable.
The prescribed burn will be conducted under a prevailing North North-Easterly breeze and it is anticipated that there will be minimal impact along K.W & Sappers Roads, travellers are reminded to remain alert and drive to the conditions.
Whilst some inconvenience can be expected due to the associated smoke, the burn will provide essential protection of our community from the threat of bush fire. If you have concerns relating to the effects of smoke, it is recommended you keep windows closed and remain indoors for the duration of this period.
