On Wednesday 29 November, we held our Movie Matinee event at the Granville Civic Centre in Gingin to celebrate Seniors Week 2023. This free event was thoroughly enjoyed by over 40 senior community members and the movie “A Man Called Otto” (starring Tom Hanks) was a hit. One attendee said: “It was great to connect with different community members” and walked away with a few new phone numbers.
Most of the feedback from the post-event survey indicated it was very well organised, that it was a great networking event, and many attendees said they will be back next year. There were also a few great suggestions for future Seniors’ Week events.
As part of the day there were 2 gift vouchers kindly donated by Moore Clothes Inc and prizes donated by the Shire which were randomly drawn. The lucky winners were Sonja, Sylvia Kelly, Annie Blom and Jenny Tola.
We look forward to holding this wonderful event again next year.
