Telstra wishes to advise its customers that it will be upgrading its mobile base station in Gingin (Coleman Way, Gingin) by adding additional infrastructure that will bring new 4G coverage to the area, these works however will require a series of temporary outages or reduction in mobile coverage.
These works will temporarily impact Telstra mobile coverage and performance in Gingin and surrounds. Customers in Gingin are likely to experience slower than usual data speeds from 23 May to 24 May 2024.
- 22 May an 8 hour (continuous) outage from 8:00am – 4:00pm
- 23 May a 4 hour (continuous) outage from 8.00am – 12:00pm
Landline services, NBN internet services and mobile coverage from other providers will not be impacted. Any calls to Triple Zero from a Telstra mobile when the site is off air will automatically be diverted to any working mobile network for connection to emergency services.
If all goes according to plan and weather permitting the mobile upgrade will be completed on the 24 May 2024.
