They
have approximately 4.5 weeks of arduous firefighting ahead of them and will be assisting the Canadian authorities protect communities from the devastating wildfires that have broken out across the country over the last 2 months and are still continuing to escalate.
The Australian contingent will form part of a larger international contingent of firefighters from Europe, Africa, NZ, and Central & South America.
Firefighting crews will be working a 14-2/14-2 roster (2 weeks on – 2 days off). Their anticipated return to WA is mid-August.
